Alright, here are the rules. I want to make sure you follow them to the T, so that we may have a pleasant board here. Minor rules broken, I'll give you a warning on the first offense. Second offense, action will be taken. Major rules will have instant consequences. Don't worry, these rules should be common sense.
This board is a literate roleplay. That means a 200+ word minimum per post. I know it seems like a lot, but trust me it isn't. I promise you, this will just help your writing muses blossom.
I wanted to get that out of the way, just so that everyone was clear on what kind of board this was. Now, for the list of rules.
1. Treat others how you can handle being treated. But don't forget common courtesy.
We're trying to be nice on this board, nice and friendly. Everyone wants to get along and be friends, so that we can have a rich and full experience with our roleplaying. So, no bickering unless it's in character and no name calling unless it's all in good fun. And don't be a tattle tale unless someone has truly offended you. Just because they said they didn't like your post doesn't mean they're bad people. Constructive criticism is supported here.
And, to go a little in depth with this particular rule, remember that you might get a bit offended. If the offending party says something that would offend you, your brother, your dog, your mother, and your mother's mother, then report it. If you get a little ticked because of something, but could probably brush it off, make sure it was in good fun. If it was offensive to you and only you, make a 'your mom' joke talk to the person about what they did and try to resolve it that way. If you're not sure, don't hesitate to ask an admin or moderator.
2. No 'smutty' images/behavior/stories are allowed. Keep it pg-13. If it's 'critical to the story', skip it here and do it somewhere else.
The proboards TOS is pretty tight on this. They have scanners that find these things and report them back to their headquarters, then take it out of our hides. You don't want that, do you? This board is great as it is, and needs to stay that way. So don't mess it up just because you had to share that picture of that one girl's armpit. Try emails, or instant messengers, or something like that.
If you do find something that's inappropriate for the site, tell someone about it. No, don't tell your friend, tell an admin or moderator. We'll put things straight.
3. You might look young, you might even be young, but you can act like an adult if you're already on boards like this.
To translate, this means act mature. Not as in, 'scandalous', as in not a child. Fits won't be tolerated, they'll just be laughed at. And if you stumble upon an image that horrifies you, don't report it unless it happens to be inappropriate. Otherwise, remember that you clicked on the link, you have to pay the price of having the image in your head until you drink so many energy drinks that it gets replaced with the Power Ranger's theme song.
See? Now I forgot the last image that I saw. We can all act our age, or in some cases older than ourselves, and make this board a likeable place.
4. If you give your password out, you're responsible for whatever the other person posts from your account.
I've heard enough stories about people using other people's accounts to post horrific things on boards like this, and I'm not going to tolerate it. Either make your password really hard to hack (I suggest using a symbol. Use this one: ยง That'll keep hackers from forcing your password.) or keep your password a secret even from your pet goldfish.
I can't say I'm really good at keeping my things personal like this, I use that 'remember password' feature through web browsers too. If you happen to do the same stupid stuff I do, then keep your computer away from your friends. Or keep your personal account passworded in a way that only you can get on it. It's not that hard.
5. As seen above...
This is a literate roleplaying board. I want to make this perfectly clear to all of you. Unless it's OOC, away from the main board, stated otherwise, or there truly isn't enough to go off of, make your posts 200 words or more. Fluff it up if you have to. Fluff meaning putting useless things in your posts to make them longer.
If you're having problems fluffing up your posts, or if you just don't get the concept, try looking at other people's posts. Or ask someone for an example. Worst case scenario, ask me. I'll show you a truly fluffy post.
Also, to make sure that you've read the rules at least this far, include your favorite color in your profile, to make sure you've read everything. Since we're all about colors.
6. No GodModding
This should be pretty simple, easy to understand, and will come with multiple parts. Both to the pro and to the con. And everyone will understand what I mean. If you don't even know what GodModding is, I'll tell you. GodModding is making yourself invincible. You make things appear out of nowhere, you kill whoever you want, you can't die or even be hurt, etc.
Now, you're not aloud to do that. You can't kill someone or even cripple them without their permission. This means, you have to ask. If you don't ask the player, then the post will be deleted on the first offense. Second, possible banning. Also, you are not invulnerable. If whatever the other person does to you isn't crippling or lethal, then it can happen. If you have a problem with it, contact us and we'll review the post.
7. Your drama isn't our drama.
Sure, we'll give you a sympathetic ear every so often, and sure we might give you advice, but keep it out of this site as much as you can. Unless you start paying me, I'm not gonna be your therapist.
Don't bring your real life drama here, especially if it'll affect your roleplaying. If you need a break, just tell us and you can leave for a couple of days if you need it. We'll understand. We're not heartless. Well... I might be.
8. Staff are your friends.
If you have any problems, can't decide what to do next, need some guidance, anything really, ask an admin or moderator. At least one of us will be online... most of the time. Hopefully your problem can wait until one of us are on.
9. Follow proboards TOS.
Yes, even the admins have to follow rules. Not only do we follow our own rules to set good examples, we have to follow another set of rules. If you want to read these rules, look at the bottom of the page. Way at the bottom. Drag the scroll bar as far down as you can, and click on the little blue link that says, "Terms of Service". Then you'll see what kind of rules will get us shut down if they're not followed.
Pretty much, the things listed by the proboards TOS are common knowledge. Don't harass anyone, no stalking, reactions between you and other members are solely your responsibility, follow laws, don't promote piracy, things like that. Go ahead and look them over if you feel the need.
These rules are subject to change, and will be changed based on you and your fellow users. Even though changes will be announced, check the rules often and when you feel lost about something.
