"What is food to one is to others bitter poison."
It was a extremely sunny day, Izaya almost wanted to wince from the light bouncing off the glass. His eyes were sensitive now, the red orbs just narrowing in the light. His hood was over his head, the brown fur dipping into his line of sight at every other bounce. Humming softly, he skipped down the almost void streets. It was early morning, so he wasn't surprised.
However the early bird gets the worm, and the even earlier bird can eat everything else. Giving a small smile to a business woman who brushed by him, he gave a small eyeroll. Women and the morning never seemed to go together. It was honestly horribly cute of his humans to wake up on the wrong side of the bed. They were always more predictable.
Continuing to skip down the street, he hummed some song from the Foreground Eclipse arranges. He could never sing the screamo parts, but no one needed to know he sounded like a small cub trying to roar for the first time. He sounded laughable. The black-haired man ignored the clicking of his shoes on the sidewalk as he made it closer to the police department.
He had a small package to drop off for the informant job he did, and sadly he was low on couriers. He was planning on just paying someone twenty bucks like he did normally, but sadly he heard his normal buddy was asked to be tipped off. He rather not get kidnapped. Whether or not it was true.
Humans bored him. Why wouldn't they do something interesting! He gave them chances that they needed, but they behaved so normally, so normally, and it drove him insane. Would one creature, human, would someone break him out of this melody of a monotone world.
"What a pitiful face, this is reality. You chose for yourself didn't you? If you just indulge in your dreams, your dreams will never come true~"
Stopping in the middle of the street, he started to laugh.
"Welcome to this monochrome world~" Tacking on a laugh in the ending, he twirled with the music he was thinking of. These songs made him laugh. A song had a story, but it had a beginning and end just like everything else. Flicking his wrist as he skipped a few steps forward he gave a small sigh.
Maybe someone in the police department could entertain him for at least five seconds. Bouncing up the stairs to the police department he walked in carelessly. These people could amuse him at least somewhat. They couldn't be that useless could they?

Shizuo was minding his own business, sitting at his desk and sipping on a cup of coffee he brought in. It was a good day so far, he had a lucky dream and someone had brought in sweet donuts that morning. He even had just enough coffee creamer to take away that bitter bite he normally got from his coffee. Right now, he was working on a case involving that new thing going around Pandora. He wasn't told what it was, and he complained about it every moment. 'It's on a need to know basis,' says his chief. "Well I need to know you..." He snarled while thinking out loud. A few of the other officers looked over at him. He just glared back and they looked away quickly. So it wasn't that good of a morning, but at least it started out good. He also had a few good leads on finding out who it was that was making Pandora. The fact that he knew it was being made gave him a bit of insight as to what it was, and that there's more than one. He had a list of things that the mysterious item could be, a little yellow sticky note stuck on his monitor. [/ul] His list wasn't very thought out. He was getting another document ready, which had taken him a good five minutes to find on his computer, when all of a sudden a horrible reek entered the room. It smelled like bitter decaying fish. And it made his nose sting. He stood up and looked around, scowling behind his blue sunglasses while scanning the room. "What in the hell is making that reek..." His eyes centered on a man who had just walked in, looking smug and yet bored. "Is that..." He jumped over his desk and stood in the hall, in the path of Izaya. "What are you doing here?!"

"We are so accustomed to disguise ourselves to others, that in the end, we become disguised to ourselves."
First off, Izaya was confronted with something he found quite boring. A woman he supposed was drunk, and received a few punches stormed past him and out of the building. Stopping in his tracks, tilting his body one of his arms extended above his head and the other towards the floor which made the secretary by the desk stare at him as if he had grown another head.
He didn't really pay attention to his odd mannerisms anymore. An apple doesn't question itself, he didn't really either. Straightening up suddenly his arms out to the side, he continued to skip along, waving towards the now awkwardly shuffling secretary, cheerfully stating that he was going to see a few of the cops for breakfast.
Which was a complete and utter lie, but the silly woman didn't need to care much. After all he was a crazy and the crazies get to do whatever they want. Izaya grinned at one of the cops who gave a small grimace. They did know each other quite well. He drug a nice little criminal gang in front of him, for a in at the office.
The man really didn't like Izaya, but it was okay with the black haired man. He loved all his human. As pathetic and repetitive as they were. It outright irked him that not one single human could surprise him. How could his humans be so pathetic, not to show a single surprising emotion! Stopping in his skipping, he gave a small huff.
The collar was ringing again, which he supposed wasn't a bad thing, but it made him like a small cat that has a bell on his collar, but no matter how much he moves, it never rings. The collar hid the cat ears and tail for a short period of time, which was good for his reputation. He rather not be seen as some cute little cat-boy out of people's fantasies.
Humans....odd creatures.
Jumping back two steps, he stared a bit surprised at a certain blond's appereance before lighting up. "Shizu-chan! You remembered when to come racing to your master's feet when he walked in the door!" He did enjoy the fear that raced through others veins when they cringed and moved away from the Izaya and Shizuo.
"Shizuuuu-channnn." He continued, a bright smile on his face. "Good morning~ I came off to drop a letter to your chief~ He asked me for something, and out of love for my beautiful humans I decided to indulge him!~"

There was that awful nickname again. Shizu-chan. That was the most annoying thing he had ever been called in his life. He hated it. "Izaya... You know just how much I hate that name." He was there to deliver a package to the chief. Izaya was an informant that worked with the gangs. To make matters worse, the man was a demon. This had bad written all over it.
He took a step forward, watching as everyone moved out of the way. He knew it was because they were afraid. At least they would be out of the way enough for him to pound this cat man into next week. "You making a delivery here only means bad things for the rest of us. Is it something on Pandora? If it is, give it to me instead. I'm sure I'll need it more than the chief."
Just looking at this man made anger well up in Shizuo's eyes. He wasn't quite sure what about this man made him so angry. Though, when nobody else was around, he wouldn't even pay attention to Izaya. It was almost like a show or something that he had to perform. "Don't make me take it from you." He didn't even know what the package was, but he was sure it was information.

"All is a riddle, and the key to a riddle...is another riddle."
Shizuo was someone who was interesting. A beastly creature that never went according to plan. It was something radically interesting to such a smart man like him. A beast, a monster. Grinning a little darkly, he realized such things made people love beasts. Fatal Attraction? People were attracted to things that could kill them.
A feral grin appeared on his face, and he swore that his face almost split. Did he have a fatal attraction to this yellow-maned lion that had enough strength to take on this panther of the dark? Distantly, Izaya mused that there should be no romanticizing their situation like that, it made him sound like a girl. No one had to hear it though which was good enough.
Now I can't feel a thing, but even in such a place-
Things like this made him so amused. Watching fire light in those eyes sent thrills down his spine. Adrenaline twitched through his fingers. He loved playing with this toy, this brute. He mused that this hate-love relationship might be too complicated for him to understand.
This brute was so very interesting. Complex, but yet not. Simple, but yet not. A contradiction, something surprising. It kept him on his toes. A sharp laugh came from him suddenly, before the brute even spoke, feeling happiness bubble up in his chest and he didn't care to put it on mute. Or feel odd, and doubt himself for feeling such a strong emotion near the brute.
If I dream- I should be able to enter without losing my wishes,
"I know you hate it Shizu-chan, but to be honest I can't bring myself to care. It's a name I gave you with love, don't be cruel~." His voice rang clearly, almost echoing in the room. Giving a small glance, not too long to keep his target out of sight, he realized most had left the room, or were trying to. He couldn't blame them, preservation and all. They probably had families back home.
Shizuo was really that brash. It was sad. It seems he didn't have the mental capacity to handle such plays. It interested him, it did, and it did even more. While his ears were past human eyes, sealed by the collar, if they were active they would be swishing in contentment. He wondered while he felt content as if he had some ootoro just because he was in this beast's range. Honestly, the monster had more of a affect on him than he thought.
Pandora?
A cattish grin settled on his closed lips. "Pandora? Isn't a good name? I believe it's from Pandora's box. I won't confuse you with the details, but when you opened the box, all evils of the world break loose, and everything comes out of the box, but for one thing. Hope." He tilted his head in thought. "You would think hope would be more evident, but by this way, nothing will be hopeful. What do you think, Shizu-chan?"
"I'm sure the chief needs this oh so important file, but if you want it Shizu-chan, I'll give it to you. All you have to do is say please and thank you. Come on~ You can do it!" Izaya honestly didn't see the point in not giving it to the chief or not. He found it perfectly acceptable to place it in the brute's hands. Not like he could do anything good with the information, or pictures. Nor could he honestly.
Despite him being a good informant, a information broker, he couldn't do everything himself. By giving the cops, and the gangs information, they would do the dirty work, and he would get the information he needed. Most of the men were in a database he was sure a danger sign. Why people that high up, would protect people that low could either mean they were a asset, or one of their own.
Yet he was too behind in this race to catch up by himself. He needed to get ahead, thus giving the chief and others information. He honestly wished the brute was more calm. Maybe the idiot could say something smart. he doubted such a thing, but it would be amusing, and it wouldn't surprise him.
"Shizu-chan, I'm sure you are aware, that if I give you this information you have to give me something back. Plus if you do attack me, you'll shatter the evidence into tiny little pieces. Which would mean that only I would now have the information which is stored in my head, which means cracking my head open, or beating me senseless wouldn't really be much of a help, now would it?"
Holding his hand out slightly, out of the range of the brute he gave a crimson eyed glance at him.
"Ne? What do you say?"
For even if it crumbles, It'll still be in my heart forever. My feelings won't disappear, that at least is a certain truth.

The man's voice was like nails on a chalkboard to Shizuo. Every word that slid from his mouth angered Shizuo even more. And that name. That horrible nickname that he wouldn't stop saying. It was only made to anger him. The man's expression was the worst of it all. It was smug, and egocentric. Shizuo just wanted to break it in half. "I don't need to ask you for anything, and I don't need to say please either. You're just gonna give it to me."
He leaned on one of the cubical separators and just glared at the man. He wasn't leaning for any other reason to test the weight and resistance of the wall, seeing how easy it would be to throw if he had to. He set his hand on top of it and eyed Izaya carefully, waiting for him to make some kind of move close enough to threatening to call his own actions self defense.
"Why don't you just put that file in my hand, turn around, and leave? If you do that, I'll promise not to pummel you too bad. How does that sound?" He was about to add something along the lines of, 'You hideous cat-man', but he decided against it. Instead, a slight smile crept across his face from the thought of it. The stench of him still hung in the air, and was about to make Shizuo gag.

"Man is least himself when he talks in his own person. Give him a mask, and he will tell you the truth."
Giving a small sigh at the predictable reaction, Izaya straightened up, flicking a small piece of hair back lazily. "Shizu-chan, do you have to be so random? While it makes you interesting, it really doesn't make you human, you brute." Walking in a small circle, one of his fingers wagging in a chiding notion he started to talk again.
"Shizu-chan. This is a very simple process. You say please, I give you the package, and you say thank you. Normal humans even with dislike fueling their tone can do this. Stupidity fits you Shizu-chan~" He stopped, swinging his arms out with a wide grin. "You're not going to get it until you ask nicely~"
The blond, would be so cute if he obeyed. He might even give the disgusting rabid brute a small kiss on his cheek. That's what brutish men liked right? They would get all blush-y when women would kiss them. Complaining about they couldn't be together because he would hurt her. Honestly he needed to stop watching soap-operas.
Why did he watch them anyways? Waving of the thought for later, he focused on Shizuo once more.
Raising a eyebrow at the look, he sighed and shrugged. If Shizuo wanted to throw stuff at him, like every single other time, he was going to. It's not like Izaya or the cops would stop him. Shifting his weight to one foot, he kicked the other back in forth in idle thought.
Shizuo couldn't injure him too badly before he could get away if he ran the route he did this morning.
"I rather not, Shizu-chan." He answered with a small careless sigh. "You see if you do hurt me, this valuable lead about Pandora could slip through your grasp in less than a few seconds. How do you know it's on my person? I might have to call in the package. You never attack before you get a definitive answer."
Giving a small teasing grin, he held his arms open wide. "Wanna bet with your job?"

The man was speaking in riddles again. Well, might as well be speaking in riddles. "According to you, all I need to do is ask nicely? Look, you came sauntering in to my office, probably lying to my coworkers, and refuse to give me an envelope with information as to a case I'm working on." Shizuo thought there was a law that was going to be passed stating that any information about Pandora or the gangs could be confiscated by the police at any time, but he hadn't heard if it went through yet. If he hadn't heard of it, it meant that the law hasn't gone through.
The antics of the man were getting more and more childish, making Shizuo angrier. Surprisingly enough, he didn't want to kill the man as much when he started these childish antics. Everyone else was gone too, which made him feel a little calmer. He didn't want to throw the cubical wall anymore. Though, with all of the insults, he still felt like pummeling Izaya until he started to cry.
"You know, you can't get to the chief directly without an appointment, right? And his secretary just ran down the stairs. I doubt you have an appointment with him at this time." Though, knowing Izaya, he did. "Are you getting paid for this? Or are you doing it to piss someone off?" Shizuo knew from experience those were mainly the reasons why Izaya did things. That, or he wanted to watch someone squirm. Or he had a debt to repay, which wasn't often.

“We all die. The goal isn't to live forever, the goal is to create something that will.”
Izaya found Shizuo's reaction bland again, and he sighed a little annoyed. He did the best he could to be as straight with his answers as he could, but the brute still didn't do anything according to plan. "Skipping actually. Like hopping?" He corrected, just to piss him off. "Also this is where every cop works, so it's not actually your office, and you're the one who came to meet me~ Nor did I lie to your coworkers! So Shizu-chan, despite you working on the case, you're all wrong on every other fact~" He teased, giving a small laugh.
"Honestly Protozoan-brain, it's not that hard to just say please. Look, I'm using it in a sentence. You can say pleaseeee. You even said the word, now just put it in a correct sentence! I'm sure Shizu-chan can learn other tricks besides shake and roll over, ne?" Honestly he was asking to get smacked. Izaya didn't exactly care if Shizuo did lose it and roar at him...but he honestly was making a point.
The whole golden rule thing seemed to not apply here. Shizuo and Izaya hated each other the moment they met. Though love and hate walk a fine line, he didn't think he could ever love a monster. His love was for his humans alone. Though it was more than a fascination than a love, and he just said he loved humans to mostly freak people out.
Looking around, he blinked at the vacated police room. Honestly, these people were supposed to protect his humans? Giving a small internal eye-roll he debated on going on a tirade publicly. No, that would do him no good. Mental tirade it was. Pointing a clawed finger towards Shizuo's face he grinned.
"I do have a appointment, thanks for asking Shizu-chan!" Blinking, suddenly looking at his fingers he frowned softly. Honestly he wanted to hide all of the demon parts, they weren't attractive, only useful and demeaning. He was human despite those parts...he was born human. Turning his gaze back to the blond he gave a small hum.
"I received payment from your higher ups. They wanted to pay me a handsome cost for any information that I had. The gangs wanted to pay me the same amount, so I decided to do both. I don't intend to piss anyone off Shizu-chan." Rolling his eyes a little, he continued. "Protozoan-head, that makes for bad business."
"Unlike the nasty things you think about me, I'm not all that bad of a guy~ When you're a human that is~"

Everything that Izaya had said made Shizuo's skin crawl. More insults, more lies, more dancing around the point and going the long way around. It was getting annoying and almost lured Shizuo into wanting to bash a table over the demon-boy's head. It was like a game, how long would Shizuo hold his temper before he started throwing things at the man? About five minutes, he guessed. He grabbed the nearest heavy object, a desk in this case, and tried to club the man.
The entire time, arguments were going through his head about either his intelligence, what Izaya was doing was wrong to do, how he could put the man in jail right now for extortion or racketeering or something, anything to put that demon in his place. The arguments returned to him, as if they had this same fight before. Izaya got through more school than he did, the fact that he was only doing his job, and how everything that he could put Izaya in jail for would result in his boss going to jail as well. It just made him more furious.
"Izaya... I don't care about getting the information anymore. I won't get fired for not completing my case about Pandora, cuz the chief will understand. Most people deny that this crap even exists! All I need to say is that I couldn't get enough supporting evidence." They only had various cases of use, and rumors anyways. "But you... You aren't needed here. The chief doesn't need that info, I bet. He would just ask one of his detectives to get whatever it is!" He couldn't think of any better arguments.

"It has been said that time heals all wounds. I do not agree. The wounds remain. In time, the mind, protecting its sanity, covers them with scar tissue, and the pain lessens, but it is never gone."
Did Shizu-chan realize what information he held in his little hands? He wouldn't be so bloody brutish if he knew. After all, he needed to get this to his other contacts so that they could find out the other figureheads of the company. Raising his eyebrow in slight curiousity he dashed out of the way to get out of range. Yipping softly as he hopped across desks, he grinned.
"Shizu-chan, you're so easy to rile up. I have fun playing with you." He commented amused, standing on some officers desk, waving carelessly. "No wonder they hired you, such brute force to let out. You're the big dog that doesn't bite, but punches you~"
Giving a small glance at the blond man he pouted a bit. It pissed him off a bit to keep his contact waiting, he was neurotically punctual. However since he was about thirty minutes early, he didn't have too much to worry about. Clicking his nails against each other, he rolled his eyes at Shizuo's argument.
"Really Shizu-chan? That's the best you could come up with?" Hopping down into the chair, he spun around once before kicking his feet up on the desk. Eyeing the man and a small girl, he supposed daughter. Giving a crimson-eyed stared at him he continued. "No you won't get fired, but you would show that you're not competent to solve a case at all, especially Pandora. Most of them deny it, for the fact they don't have their hands that deep into it."
"To be honest, Pandora is much more common than people think. No one could get supporting evidence, especially not a pissed off monster." Humming softly, Izaya grinned. "I am not needed, you are not needed, your brother isn't needed, my family isn't needed. No one is needed for anything. We'll all die one day, we aren't needed anything, but needing information is what you need, and I happen to specialize in it, Shizu-chan. So I am needed in this instance. He does need this info, since he contacted myself for it."
"I wasn't even surprised honestly. I offered it to him when he started up his job a few years ago. I told him if he and the higher ups paid me enough, I would get them something juicy for monetary value. His detectives, you, and himself don't have the clearance for the information that they need. I don't even have it myself. I however do have people that do. Thus, is why if you don't let me give your information to your boss, you're letting one of the best leads you can have walk right into a bar and give little under-aged girls a nice shot of it, and watch them become mindless zombies.~"
...He was in such a talkative mood today, he swore. However it was all needed to blast Shizu-chan's argument into tiny little pieces.
"So listen to me Shizu-chan. Listen well and comprehend, understand. I'm not here to piss on your turf, you barbaric oaf. I'm here giving you the information you need to get your man." Raising a eyebrow, he snickered. "That's short enough for you to understand, neh?"
